Churches
St John the Baptist
The parish church of St John the Baptist was consecrated in April 1842 by the Rt Rev Dr Thomas Walsh, Vicar Apostolic of the Central District. There is a long standing tradition that the the church was designed by A. W. N. Pugin, however the exact nature of his involvement is unclear and the church's architect is often listed as Edward James Willson of Lincoln, who was himself a noted antiquary, architect and writer.
Convent Chapel
The Convent Chapel was blessed and opened on the 1st July 1964 by the Rt Rev Edward Ellis, Bishop of Nottingham. The Chapel is owned by the Franciscan Sisters Minoress and have always kindly offered the use of the Chapel to the parish for Sunday and weekday Masses.
