Arrange to receive a
Sacrament
Baptism
Baptism makes us members of the Body of Christ and part of the community that meets each Sunday for Mass. We ask parents to complete the baptismal course. Please contact Sister Dorothy Paul for more information.
Confirmation
In Confirmation we complete what we began in Baptism. Candidates for Confirmation must be at least 11 and a half or older. Please contact Sister Dorothy Paul for more information.
Holy Communion
In Holy Communion we bind ourselves more closely to Christ and to His body the Church. All applicants must be baptised and able to produce a baptismal certificate.
First Holy Communion
Children attending St Francis Catholic Primary School will automatically be informed when preparation classes for First Holy Communion will begin. This is normally around the age of 7 or 8. Children from the parish not attending St Francis should contact the Headteacher for more information.
Parishioners unable to attend Mass
Please inform Father or the Parish Office if you, or a family member, are in hospital, sick or housebound, so someone can bring you Holy Communion.
Reconciliation
Children normally make their first confession as part of their preparation for First Holy Communion.
Times for confession are detailed in the newsletter and the website.
Anointing of the sick
The sacrament is for those suffering from a grave illness. Please contact Father for more information.

Request a
Mass Intention
Mass Intention
A Mass can be offered for any good intention e.g., in remembrance, to thank God, or to help someone in need. Mass can also be offered for a private intention if you do not want the recipient to know. When requesting a Mass intention most people make a minimum offering of £10.00, this is to contribute to the material things that are involved in celebrating that particular Mass. If someone doesn't have the money, a Mass will still be offered for the intention. If you would like to request a Mass intention please contact the Parish Administrator stjohn.melton@dioceseofnottingham.uk.
