The boiler house and kitchen were demolished by Monday 17th March to make way for the new parish and community hall. As the week continued, a poured concrete floor and concrete tiles were laid, which outline the floor plan of the hall, and the size of the rooms. The parish administrator was contacted during the week by our energy supplier, enquiring about what had happened to the meters. Photographs of a forlorn pipe showing that the gas was disconnected, and fancy woodwork providing a roof for the electricity meter were provided to them. The gas meter, which was in the possession of the builders, will be reinstalled when the supply is reinstalled.

There has been some interest in what the tall metal posts are for. These are wind strengtheners to ensure the roof will be safe in strong winds, a consideration now for larger buildings where climate change is causing more frequent storms.
