Volunteer with us
About the project
Thank you for taking the time to read about the Friendship and Meals project which we prepare to launch in January 2026. The project aims to provide either a drop in or lunch club, one day a week, to support those in need in our community. We are working through the options for what food we will be able to provide and hope that this offer will develop over time. The project will also include offering a place to sit and chat, a friendly ear and refreshments.
Where and when
The project is due to start in January 2026 and will be based in the new Parish and Community Hall, currently being built next to St John the Baptist Church in Thorpe End.
Volunteer opportunities
The project is still in the design stage and the next few months will focus on planning and ensuring the resources are available to deliver the project. However we would like to hear from you if you have experience in catering, finance or providing a similar service.
We also welcome expressions of interest for the following roles, so we can keep you up to date with what is happening.
